Alia Raad

Clinical psychologist

Alia Raad provides psychotherapy to adults and couples. Her warm, integrative approach creates space to understand difficult experiences, emotions, relationships, and patterns that may be getting in the way. Care is shaped by each person’s history, needs, and goals.

Who she supports

Alia works with adults and couples facing concerns such as grief, traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and parenting challenges. She also works with people who feel stuck in recurring patterns, want to better understand themselves or their relationships, or are seeking change during a difficult period in their lives.

Approach

Alia provides integrative psychotherapy grounded in trust, collaboration, and mindfulness. Her work draws on Hakomi and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, with attention to the connections between emotions, bodily experience, beliefs, and relationships.

Hakomi uses present-moment awareness to explore experiences, emotions, and beliefs that may operate outside of everyday awareness. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy integrates body awareness into psychotherapy, particularly in work related to trauma and attachment.

With couples, she helps partners better understand the patterns that develop between them, communicate more openly, and make room for each person’s needs and experience.

Background

Alia earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology and psychopathology from USJ in Beirut in 2010. Her additional training includes a Hakomi practitioner certificate from HEN in 2022 and Level II Sensorimotor Psychotherapy in 2025.

She is a co-founder of Clinique VIA. She also founded The Space in Between and provides clinical supervision and consultation.
