OUR SERVICES

Children and Parenting Support in Montreal

We support children who are struggling emotionally, behaviourally, or in their relationships, while helping parents and caregivers better understand and respond to their needs. Together, we look beyond the behaviour, identify what may be contributing to the difficulties, and develop practical ways to support change and strengthen your relationship.

When might your child need support?

Your child may be struggling with anxiety or worries, OCD or repetitive thoughts and behaviours, low mood or depression, or difficulty managing strong emotions. They may withdraw from others, have low self-esteem, behave in ways that are hard to understand, struggle with peers, or have difficulty adjusting to changes at home, school, or in the family.

We work to understand what may be contributing to these difficulties and consider what your child needs within the context of their age, development, relationships, and everyday life.

How can we support your child?

Together, we explore what needs attention, including your child’s emotions, reactions, relationships, and the situations that may be making daily life more difficult.

Depending on your child’s age, needs, and the clinician’s professional role and approach, psychotherapy or counselling may involve conversation, play, activities, or strategies to practise between meetings.

We aim to help your child better understand and express what they are experiencing, develop ways of coping with difficulties, and feel more supported in daily life.

What is your role as a parent or caregiver?

Your knowledge of your child matters. We make room for your observations, questions, and concerns, while helping you understand your child’s needs and consider ways of responding that support both your child and your relationship with them.

Your involvement may include conversations with the clinician, meetings without your child, or time together with your child. The nature of your participation will depend on your child’s age, needs, and the goals of the work.
